Talk:How to get TV-Out working on ATI graphic cards
Please merge this page with the ATI Radeon 7000 page, no need for a seperate page.
M6 == Radeon 7000
This way people with other ThinkPads with the same chip can also benefit.

While i agree to your argument, i kept it on a separate page because putting it on all the relevant adapters pages would cause redundant editing needs when something changes. However, i did put the links where i thought applicable. Probably needs verification. Wyrfel 17:49, 15 Aug 2005 (CEST)
Yesterday I managed to get my TV-Out running, but it wasn't by the ati.2 theatre_drv driver for the Xserver. Instead I used a small and unmaintained tool named atitvout. I think it should work on other Radeon / Rage cards.
I have yet to test the theatre_drv variant, till now it didn't work as I expected. But I tried it with a second Xserver and perhaps that was the problem. I will try once more tomorrow running only one Xserver. By the documentation it should work, but my XFree.1.log said that the TVOutput Option was not used.
Now I'm not sure how to proceed with the documentation. If I succeed with the Xserver module, I would continue as I begun, but if it doesn't work, I only have the atitvout variant. Any hints on how to proceed? --Macfiron 22:28, 15 Aug 2005 (CEST)
I just changed the sectioning of the page a bit, so we have two main sections now: the GATOS approach and the atitvout approach. This should help you going on. If you cannot validate the GATOS approach please remove the A30p entry from the "tested on" section. Wyrfel 00:28, 16 Aug 2005 (CEST)
Thanks for the advice. I already added the atitvout doku. And I managed to get up and run another test on the tv but I didn't get the ati.2 drivers to activate the SVideo out. And I got confused about the versions and dates of the GATOS drivers, XFree86 drivers and the drm-kernel module. Time for a break H-) --Macfiron 02:20, 16 Aug 2005 (CEST)
