With my thinkpad t500, the e1000e driver of the stock Lenny kernel (version 2.6.26) didn't work, while it's working perfectly with the kernel 2.6.27.
So I did the backport of the driver (from 2.6.27) for myself, since I wanted to run the kernel 2.6.26 with Xen dom0 and 64 bits. Since this is not an obvious thing to do (the network API between 2.6.26 and 2.6.27 has changed quite a lot), I have sent it to our FTP for you to use it:
